Educational Objectives

The objectives of the BA in Information Systems and BS in Business & Information Systems programs are to prepare the student so that three to five years after completing the program, the graduate will:

  1. Be working as a computing professional, utilizing the knowledge acquired in the BA in Information Systems and BS in Business & Information Systems programs.
  2. Be engaged in the computing profession and be utilizing professional skills to make a positive impact on society.
  3. Have participated in further professional development, employing the learning skills taught in the BA in Information Systems and BS in Business & Information Systems programs. ​

Student Outcomes

Graduates of the program will the ability to:

  1. Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
  2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program's discipline. 
  3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
  4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles. 
  5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program's discipline.
  6. Support the delivery, use, and management of information systems within an information systems environment.
