Open Search for Information Science / Information Technology for Fall 2024
The Informatics Department seeks outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. in a computing, information science, or computing-related discipline or near completion. Informatics has an open search for several tenure-track positions in different areas of Information Science, Information Technology, Human Computing, and Data Science. The areas of interest include, but are not restricted to:
- Human-computer interfaces
- Data science and data mining
- Cybersecurity
- Networking
- Social media and network analytics
- Visual computing and graphics
- Creative computing
- Cloud administration
Outstanding candidates in other information science and computational areas will also be considered.

NJIT has recently expanded its graduate programs to Jersey City, just across the Hudson River from the financial district of Lower Manhattan in New York City. The instructional staff of the Department of Informatics will be expected to teach at this site as needed.

Largest College of Computing on the East Coast of the USA
The Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC) is the largest college of computing in the tri-state region of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and one the largest in the United States. YWCC graduates the commanding number of computing graduates in the area. As a result, 25% of all high-tech employees in New Jersey trained at NJIT.
Research Support
YWCC is a dynamic research college with innovative projects funded by NSF, NIH, DARPA, and partner companies such as Oculus, Verizon, and others.
